We had a table up for 2 weeks with a big Noah’s ark and some Noah boxes I painted and a big Noah himself. Also were a Noah box filled with cheddar crackers for everyone to take some-and draw people to the table.
Our theme is “Come On Board”-we used those tiny cheddar fish crackers as part of our reminder handout this week and did a skit from the lost Book Of Gomer.

Next week we are handing out bottles of “Instant Water-just add water” as well as a parody of the song, Singing In The Rain?”

Handouts were the plastic bottles with “Instant water-just add water “on them, glued to a big blue paper raindrop with the HFPE particulars on it.
Sharon wrote this and bought us these generic rain hats that tied under the chin and were a huge! size- they covered our eyes just about. Also we had umbrellas opened.

We came up from the back of the RS room singing as we went.

Singing In The Rain?

We’re singin’ in the rain

Just singin’ in the rain

What a glorious feeling

We’ve stored all our grain.

We’re laughing at clouds

so dark up above

’cause the garden was huge

and the canning is done.

In our storage room space,

every jar in its place.

Come on with the rain

we’ve a smile on our face!

We’ll walk through the store,

and we’ll worry no more.

‘Cause we’re singing

just singing in the rain!

The Book of Gomer

Alison: These are the generations of Gomer, son of Homer, son of Omer. And in the days of Gomer, Noah the prophet, went unto the people saying, “Prepare ye for the flood which is to come, yea, buildeth yourselves a boat, that ye may not perish.”

Now Gomer was a religious man and taught Sunday School and played,
yea, verily on the Church softball team.

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife said to him,” Come, let us build unto ourselves a boat as the prophet commandeth, that we may not perish in the flood.”

Alison: And Gomer answered saying,” Fear not, O wife, for am I not the star pitcher on the church softball team? Wherefore, the church will
provide for us a boat, that we perisheth not.”

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife went unto Noah and she returned to Gomer,
saying,” Behold mine husband, the prophet said that the church hath not enough lumber to buildeth a boat for all, wherefore mine husband, buildeth for us a boat that we might not perish in the flood!”

Alison: And Gomer answered her saying,” Behold, if we build a boat,
when the flood cometh, will not our neighbors overpower us and take from us our boat, wherefore, what doth it profit a man to build a boat?”

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife went again unto Noah, and she returned
saying, “Behold! The prophet sayeth, build yourselves a boat, and have
faith, for if ye do the lord’s bidding, he will preserve your boat for you.”

Alison: But Gomer answered his wife in this wise,” Verily, It seemeth
to me that with this inflation, the price of wood has gone as high as the
heavens, and if we wait, the price will cometh down. And, indeed, THEN will I build for us a boat.”

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife went again unto Noah, and she returned
saying,” Thus saith the prophet, build for yourselves a boat RIGHT NOW!, for the price of wood will NOT go down, but will continue to goeth UP! Wherefore, O husband! Build for us a boat, that we perisheth not!”

Alison: But Gomer answered his wife, saying,” Behold-for 120 years
Noah hath told us to build a boat to preserveth us from the flood-but hath the flood come? Verily, I say nay! Wherefore, perhaps the flood will not come for another 120 years!”

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife went again unto Noah and returned saying,”
Yea-the prophet sayeth this:” He knoweth it hath been 120 years, but
nevertheless, the flood will soon come-go, therefore and build yourselves a boat!”

Alison: And Gomer answered her saying,” Wherewith shall we get the
money to build ourselves a boat, for are we not now making monthly payments on our snazzy new chariot? Wherefore when our payments end, perhaps we shall build ourselves a boat.”

Sharon: And Gomer’s wife went again unto Noah and returned saying,”
Behold, the prophet saith we should cut down on our recreation and our
vacations and even giveth to each other lumber for Christmas gifts, that we might thereby get enough lumber to build ourselves a boat.

Alison: But Gomer saith unto her,” Nay, Nay ,nay, verily. Are we to
cease enjoying life, just because the prophet wanteth us to build a boat!”

Wherefore Gomer built not a boat.

But BEHOLD! One afternoon Gomer heard thunder in the heavens, and he feared exceedingly and he ran, yea, even to the lumberyard. But, behold, the lumberyard was crowded with great multitudes, all seeking to buy lumber, and there was not enough lumber to be found for all the multitudes.

And on that same day, were all the fountains of the deep opened, and
the windows of heaven were broken up and the floods came—and behold-Gomer had no boat.

Sharon: And as the waters rose above Gomer’s waist, his wife saith to him,” Behold, honey-I TOLD THEE SO!!!!!”
