We are having a craft day for our Super Sat. Here is the list of things we have decided to do
:
1. Homemade gift tags-cost is 10 cents/tag because the sister teaching is using stamps from her collections to share-so the only thing to buy is raffia or stuff to tie the tags to the present. Really cute-we are using a Christmas theme: Christmas tree stamps, etc. and just using off-white paper to cut out squares and circle for the tags.
2. Flavored spoons for hot chocolate-yum! Who doesn’t like hot choc. when it gets cold? I found these basic recipes for chocolate and white choc. spoons and they are super easy! And make great gifts when you put them in a mug! Basically, you just stir the spoons in your hot chocolate to make it more chocolaty. Cost is 12 cents/spoon
3. Fleece blankets these are the tie blankets when you get twice the amount of fleece as what you would have the blanket size be. For instance, if you want an infant blanket 2 yd. long, you would buy 4. Then you cut the entire perimeter into 1 inch equal strips and tie each end into a knot. Cost is the price of the fleece-you have to bring your own.
4.Cookie Mix in a Jar-who doesn’t love getting one of these? Price is prob. 2.00/ jar.
5. String Ornament
6. Spider Coaster-this was interesting for Halloween..it’s a black piece of craft foam you cut out in kind of as spider web shape. Then you use silver paint to trace it. Then you tie a piece of black string from the foam to a toy spider-so that when you sit the coaster on the table the spider hangs off. 40 cents/spider
7. Funnel Christmas tree- I haven’t seen it either-lady is out of town-.
8. Beaded project -this is using beads to make Santa clauses and Christmas trees. I saw them sitting on a pieces of paper but I’m not sure what you do with them yet. (the lady that makes them only speaks Spanish) guess I get someone to translate. 2.00/project
9. Church characters coloring book-this is about a 15 page coloring book for our kids or grandkids all with bible or BOM characters that I found off the internet. I didn’t want it to be all bible characters-b/c that’s not what we’re only about. I found these and they did not have copy right laws-so they are ok. Some are from Christy’s pages-(can’t think of her website name) I’ll look it up -others are from www.christiananswers.net look up coloring pages. I just searched for lds coloring pages and Christian coloring pages. Ended up with pictures of the brass plates, Noah’s ark, young Moroni, brother of Jared, nativity scene, Jesus with some children, baby Moses in the basket, Jonah and the whale, anti-Nephi-Lehi, etc. cost is 1.50/coloring book
Enjoy!
