My name is Kim Bell and I am a stay-at-home mom in Stansbury Park, UT and owner of BlueBelle Clockworks. I have been selling hand-crafted, large wall clocks for a while now, but I have recently discovered that it is more fun to teach other people how to make them instead! I currently travel around the Wasatch front and Utah County teaching 3-hour clock making classes.
All materials are included in a flat fee that is paid per clock. The fee depends on the size of the group (groups must consist of at least 10 people), and can save you 30-40% off of the retail price! The fee ranges from $42-$55 (per clock) for 24 inch clocks. Each clock is personalized with a family name and established date, which make them wonderful, personal gifts! There are several styles and colors available, so each clock can be customized to fit your décor.
Smaller clock classes are usually held at the home of the hostess, and as a thank you, she gets to make her clock for FREE! Clock classes are a fun way to get together with friends and neighbors, and everyone gets to leave with their own, fantastic clock! This is also an ideal activity for Super Saturday and Enrichment night, perfect for beginning crafters. Larger groups (20+) need access to a large space, such as a church gym. When the Relief Society was in the process of being formed, Sarah M. Kimball and her seamstress, Margret Cook, were the sister’s who offered to supply the materials and sew the shirts. March is one of my favorite months, not only because it’s the month of my birth, but it is also the “birthday” of the Relief Society.
It is a blessing to be a member of the Relief Society, an organization for women. The focus of the Relief Society is Charity. Charity is found through our works.
When I was pregnant with my first child, I had visiting teachers who visited me rain or shine. Three days before I delivered my daughter these two sisters popped in to check on me. Earlier that day I was making some fried eggs in a cast iron skillet and picked it up while it still hot. I burned my hand so badly. Large blisters had formed on the tender part of the inside of the hand. These sisters after discovering this left soon after and returned with a bottle of aloe vera gel. This simple gesture probably didn’t give them a second thought, but it was just the thing I needed to know that I was loved and cared for. I was nervous to go into labor with pain in my hand. Three days later it had healed enough that I didn’t notice it at all through the contractions.
The work we do in this life stays behind to bless the lives of others and the generations that follow. If we take the small chances to give of ourselves, our time, and the talents we possess we can bring happiness and love into the lives of others. This is the spirit of the Relief Society.
