Liahona

Instructions are very simple on how to make a Liahona for a visual display.
I
made one a while ago using a hamster ball (from the local pet store). Tape
over any holes and areas you do not wish to have covered with paint. Spray
paint ball gold.
When dry, I used gold sequins, gold braid trim, etc., to
dress it up. Also, I put a gold finial (little decorative wood piece) on top. I also put a
little compass inside the ball mounted on a very thin gold dowel.
I know if Nephi had come out of his tent and seen this, he probably would have
scratched his head and said "I don't know what it is, but if we took all this
stuff off, it would make a really great hamster ball." So, although not true
to the original, it was a very effective representation. I've used it many
times for all organizations, and loaned it out constantly.
Also, it's great fun to make a Title of Liberty using leather, etc.
