Stronger Families In A Jar
by: Amy in Memphis

Our theme was Stronger Families in a Jar. We
started out with a discussion on ideas to help strengthen our marriages.
Thanks to Valerie, I had everyone write on a slip of paper an idea or
thought on how to strengthen a marriage. (I ended up teaching the class when
our first and second choice couldn't and it was too late to ask anyone) I
think it was a great discussion. I also used a couple articles from the
Ensign.
Then we split up into three groups, had about 25, we made the 30 FHE ideas.
I had them bring a jar, to go along with the theme, and cut up the 30 words
and put then in the jar. That way they can just pull one out and give the
lesson.
At another table I had all the pages and a folder for them to put them in.
In the kitchen we had class on freezer jam. I bought 1/2 cup plastic
containers so everyone got to take some home. Our RP makes award winning
bread, so for refreshments we had bread and jam I made ahead of time.
The best part was the everyone had plenty of time to just relax and visit.
I think everyone had a great time.
I have to share my handout. I printed out a picture of a jar on
transparency film, with the theme and date etc. then put it over a picture
of a family. Hence, stronger family in a jar.
