Tea Party

By: Elaine Larocque

Last night was our second annual Tea Party. It went really well except I am beat today. I wish I had made it clearer that I needed the presidencies' help with cleanup.

My husband came dressed in shirt and tie and helped my daughter and I serve.

My daughter made ice candle holders that we used with tea lights in them to light the sidewalk to the chapel. They looked gorgeous and everyone loved them. She has a mold that you make them in and it has a hole for the tea light and one for the water to drain out. The only problem is they are still frozen to the sidewalk at the chapel. I
will have to gather the tea light garbage when they melt.

For refreshments we had herbal tea, of course. Then we had tea sandwiches and individual cheesecakes. We used the regular white cloths on the round tables and then I had made some square pink table cloths to layer over. I also made darker pink cloth napkins with a little bow and pearl sewn on the corner.
We had centerpieces with a half-dozen silk roses, carnations and cream lilacs in the glass vases with hearts on them. At each place setting we had a little favor of Valentine's candy in a little bag with a scripture quote attached with pink ribbon.

We just had our lesson then the tea party. It was well attended and I actually left before some of them were willing to go home.
