Getting Back on Track
January HFPE 2003

Getting Back on Track

Classes were:  Getting Back on track with Personal Prayer, Scripture Study and FHE

Publicity for first Sunday were 6 posters put at each of the front entrances.  They had a train conductor and he was saying "All Aboard".  There were miniature signs located inside the building too.

2nd Sunday- Starburst chews-CHEW CHEW your way out to HFPE.
I would also use tootsie rolls and TOOT TOOT yourself out to HFPE.

personal prayer
scripture study
FHE

Preparations for the night: I set up chairs in the gym and moved the piano, and chalkboard and a table in there.  This is where the sisters will meet for opening exercises.  I then went to the primary room and set out a few chairs to get the teacher started, The RS room the chairs were already put out and the FHE was in the foyer.  I moved another couch over.  Then I laid out masking tape leading from the gym to all of the classes.  It looked great! (Just like a train track!!)  I put all the door signs up.

The early bird prize which was a personal planner $8.  To help them keep their schedules on track.

We met in the gym.  Our opening song I had previously written on the chalkboard so there was no need to use hymn books.  After the spiritual thought and opening exercises we sang our song.

We’ve Been Workin’ on Enrichment

We’ve been workin’ on enrichment
All through the year
We’ve been workin’ on enrichment
Because you’re all so dear

Don’t you hear the whistle blowing
Every third Thursday
Don’t you hear the Bishop shouting,
“Pat, blow your horn!”

Chrys, won’t you blow?
Chrys, won’t you blow?
Chrys, won’t you blow your horn?
Chrys, won’t you blow?
Chrys, won’t you blow?
Chrys, won’t you blow your horn?”

Someone’s asked to give the classes
Someone’s asked to give it who-o-o-o?
Someone’s asked to give the classes
Maybe, it will just be you?

Singing:
“Why me?, Help, me!”
“Why me?, He-lp me-e!”
“Why me?, Help me
Give the best enrichment class!

We all got in a train line and choo choo’d out to our first class where a Sister fell off track and yelled, “Help, I have fallen off track with personal prayer and the teacher said, “I can help you, come in here.  We planned our classes to accommodate 60 women so we all rotated together.

Personal prayer class was excellent.  She passed out the prayer rock poem and a rock.

Scripture study class was great too.  She passed out pages of help and info and STOMP.  Sisters trying out Moroni’s promise.  A schedule to read the BOM in 60 days.

FHE every time she said the word FHE we passed along the 10 VIRTUES FHE packet taken from Gordon B. Hinckley’s book.  It too was a fun class.

Sisters were very appreciative and all said they really enjoyed what was planned for them that evening.  I am glad.

FOOD:  Marieta had the kitchen set up really pretty.  She laid out a nice table cloth and then had train tracks going across the top.  She had various fruits of bananas, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, grapes, yogurt and a granola crunch with fruit punch for the drink.  Everything was in pretty glass bowls and platters.  It looked very nice and I appreciated all the trouble and hard work she went through.

All in all the Pineville Express had a successful enrichment night.  The nursery also made prayer rocks which came out really cute.  They were big rocks painted white and they got to decorate with other paints to make flowers or anything.
