Mother/Daughter HFPE Nights

We just had an awesome Mother/Daughter in July.  We started out with Photography tips (how to frame your subject, how to use your camera, what type of film to use, how to use your flash for different situations, film & digital etc.)  Then we offered a Kids cooking class with microwave recipes, Creating Stamped Cards, Stamped journals, Balloon Flip Flops (they had to bring their own flip flops we provided balloons), Bead Bracelets and we had a baby quilt to be tied.  Everyone got to choose and do as many classes as they wanted.  Everything was paid for out of budget so no one was excluded by cost. We finished up with root beer floats.  Everyone had a great time visiting and didn't want to leave.

This is an HFPE idea for a get-together for Mother's and Daughters:

Calling all sisters from 3-103

We are also doing an "Adopt A Daughter" for the night.  If a sister does not have a daughter and would like one for the night, she can get one for the evening.

We are having a relay race (this is a great teaching tool for our young girls and great fun for all)  You can have as many stations as you would like, here are five examples:

1. Baby Station- two baby dolls ready to change, wipe and powder.
2. Laundry station- two hampers and a basket of clothes to sort.
3. Table etiquette- a table ready to set for two.
4. Broom and pan- cereal on the ground (we used one big broom and one little broom)
5. Toys- basket of toys scattered and needing to be picked up.

You can always come up with more if you want this to go longer.

After this we did two mini classes- a scrap-book page that was about the evening (we took pictures that night) and a cooking class (we did rice krispie treats) something easy and fun.
