Country And Western Fall Social

For couples

Idea by: Deborah Castlemain
Copperas Cove, TX 1st Ward

We always have a country western theme.  This year we entitled it: "Wheelin' Around The Country."

Handouts- Covered Wagons.  R.S.V.P.- a colored pie which was slipped into the front of the wagon and then given back as their R.S.V.P.

Menu-
Steaks (grilled steaks)
Scalloped potatoes
Salad
Punch (served from mason jars)
Dessert- everyone brought something for our "blue ribbon bake-off" which our Bishopric judged blind-folded.
French Bread and butter

Entertainment- country line dancing and R.S. skit to introduce the entire board.  Bake-off.

Decorations- Lots of clear Christmas lights.  Old quilts, etc. We asked 6 families to decorate a small table each with things from their family travels or heirlooms.

The eating area was set up like a wagon wheel with a table in the center.

Twisted blue paper and small scarecrows (borrowed) were all we placed on each table.  Flowers in the center. Borrow, borrow, borrow is our motto.  We really didn't spend more than $10 on decorations.

We also decorated one wall and took couples pictures as they arrived.  It was fun to see them later and have a memento of the night.
