This was written in 1950 by Beatrice E. Smith

She could not spread the gospel
In far-off distant lands.
But she offered to the Lord -
The labor of her hands.
With simple words and kindly smile
She'd cheer some lonely heart,
And, in her homely prayers at night,
She played a workers part.
She sewed at tiny garments
As Dorcas did of old,
In every little seam she stitched
Her love for Christ was told.
Thus did she serve her neighbors
And fulfill the Lord's commands
By giving love and sympathy
And the labor of her hands.
