"Teaching, No Greater Call" pg.20:

POPCORN IS A KERNEL THAT MAGNIFIED ITS CALLING!
"There can be no failure in the work of the Lord when we do our best.  We are but instruments; this is the Lord's work.  This is His Church, His
gospel plan.  These are His children we are working with.  He will not
permit us to fail if we do our part.  He will magnify us even beyond our own talents and abilities when necessary.  This I know.  I am sure many of you have experienced it as I have.  It is one of the sweetest experiences that can come to a human being." -- Ezra Taft Benson

My favorite for the month that has Easter is to get plastic eggs and a bag of M&M's.  I print out the reminder and put them into the egg with a couple of the candies.

For Halloween I've used the fun sized snickers.  On orange paper I print out that Enrichment is a Treat not a Trick and tape it to the candy.

For a temple theme I've gone off the old commercial, "Calgon Take Me Away."  I print out on what is to be the front of the card an invitation, then I print on the left side a quote about the temple being a place of relaxation and meditation.  On the right at the very top I print "Temple Take Me Away."  I then punch 2 holes and with pretty white narrow ribbon I hang a small bag filled with bath salts.  Then the Enrichment night below.  In small letters behind the bag I usually print how to use the salts.  I've tried to get fragrance that promotes uplifting thoughts or calms, sooths.

I've used fortune cookies and tied around the bag a note saying something about they'll have good fortune if they come.

Another one is a take on quilting yo-yo's I pick something round like a mug and draw a circle (I use this in November) you do a running stitch on the wrong side and stuff, once you pull tightly it becomes a ball.  I then take DMC floss and going down thru the center to hide the knot I make veins and my ball becomes a pumpkin!  I use just tiny strips of brown felt for the stems and smaller pipe cleaners wound around something as the tendril.

My other favorite that is always been a big hit and unfortunately I can not find, but perhaps some of you with Ben Franklins around or AC Moore's maybe you can still get them.   Plaid put out a series of molds just a few years ago that you use faster plaster in.   I use Christmas ones and paint them then buy pin backs, but beware if you do decide to make these make Extra's!   The other things I've done is to cross stitch a small sampler and I cut out pieces of batting and backing fabric and one the sampler is done I just sandwich it and run it through the sewing machine (I don't even bother clipping it off I just pull some extra thread and go on).  I then add a small magnet to the back.

One thing that turned out very cute and cheap (for me) when I bought my house the owners left a big box of tiles at the bottom were 2x2 off white tiles I bought gold pens and wrote a musical scripture reference on it backed it with sticky felt and put a magnet to it.  It was for cultural arts and we were focusing on music.

Last summer, I made soap popsicles. Next month also being Mother's Day and our Physical & Emotional Health month I am using a candy mold of a cameo and I'll make soaps to pass out.

You were MINT to be at HFPE.     We would TREASURE your presents at HFPE.   Please CHEWS (a stick of gum) to come and join us at HFPE.

HFPE may be a LIFESAVER of a night. (use for emergency night)  Be a smart COOKIE and come to HFPE.

Top 10 RESINS to come to HFPE  (I've been trying to find this one, …
Cake - homemade or store bought - the note says "you take the cake",

"You're an absolute angel" to accompany an angel-food cake.

Create a "heart-smart" gift basket with low cholesterol foods. Card can say "thanks to you from the bottom of my heart".

Fattening snacks like cookies or chocolate could accompany a note that says, "I've gained so much with you as my friend...now it's your turn.

"Thanks for gettin me out of a jam!" attached to a bottle of jam or preserves.

Give a jar of mixed nuts to a friend to let them know you'd "go totally nuts without them".

Tie a big, blue bow around a token gift for a "blue ribbon" winner.

Fill a mug with herbal teas and attach a note that says "You suit me to a tea"!

Homemade soup, or the home-style type in a can, is a great cold-weather thanks for a truly "souper" friend.
